Kidepo Valley National Park, located in the far north-eastern corner of Uganda near the borders with South Sudan and Kenya, is often referred to as Uganda’s most untouched wilderness. Vast, untamed, and astonishingly beautiful, Kidepo is a destination for events that require complete immersion, exclusivity, and profound natural presence—perfect for high-level conservation retreats, documentary production crews, incentive travel experiences, or executive visioning sessions that seek clarity far from the noise.

Kidepo’s remoteness is its greatest asset. The park is home to sweeping savannah plains, distant mountains, and rare wildlife species including cheetah, ostrich, and bat-eared foxes. The park features several boutique lodges designed for small-scale exclusivity. Apoka Safari Lodge is the most luxurious, with ten spacious cottages overlooking the Narus Valley. Other options include Kidepo Savannah Lodge and Nga’Moru Wilderness Camp, which offer authentic bush settings, solar power, and open-air dining areas that double as intimate event spaces.

While there are no formal conference centres in Kidepo, the lodges and landscape together create a unique kind of “venue” where firelight, stars, and wildlife serve as the backdrop for dialogue and reconnection. Programmes here often include walking safaris, community visits to Karamojong homesteads, and stargazing nights—building shared experiences that strengthen teams or inspire creative leadership.

Access is limited but manageable. Flights from Entebbe to Kidepo airstrip take about two hours, or travellers can opt for a two-day road journey via Gulu or Kitgum. The journey itself becomes part of the retreat experience.
