Tororo

Tororo, located near the Kenyan border in Eastern Uganda, is a modest yet
strategically important town known for its iconic Tororo Rock, cultural heritage, and
role in East African trade and development. It’s a practical and symbolic choice for
events centered on cross-border cooperation, regional peacebuilding, infrastructure
planning, or grassroots development work.
As a transport and logistics hub, Tororo is regularly chosen for NGO field summits,
regional policy dialogues, and faith-based outreach programs targeting
communities along Uganda’s eastern corridor. Its accessibility from both Kampala
(5–6 hours) and Eldoret or Kisumu in Kenya allows for binational event

planning—especially those involving East African community-building, health
campaigns, or youth peace initiatives.
Venues such as Tororo Rock Hotel, Hotel Aturukuku, and Pentagon Hotel offer
conference facilities for 30–100 participants, often hosting civil society workshops,
church conventions, and district-level leadership training. While these facilities are
functional rather than luxurious, they provide reliable services and a strong
connection to the local community and business environment.
The towering Tororo Rock, rising nearly 500 meters above the surrounding plains, is
more than a scenic landmark—it’s a site of cultural and spiritual significance to the
